The reminiscence changing in caprical time for a thousand years:
Petra Castle,Jordan.

With the assistance of my hotel's staff in desert(Wadi Rum),I went to meet my bus in the middle of nowhere. At least,it seemed to be this way,for I couldn't find any bus sign. All I could see was an endless land covered with sand, and decorated with disfigured rocks scattered on it.It's almost the same scene in the peremeter of my sight, and it's very difficult to make a coordinate if fixing a location was necessary.
The bus driver had talked this over with my hotel's staff, thus,he made certainty to show up for the pickup, and I was the only passenger he'd got in this stop.I had never had this traveling experience before, and I was not condifence if the bus would come.I would become petrified into a mummy if it didn't come to rescue me away from this alien environment.
Well, here it came, popped out of the thin air and no more worries.

The tourist industry in Desert Wadi Rum has been standarized to fit the requirements of service. Thus, basically there's nothing to worry about.I left Wadi Rum for Petra City, got off at the bus stop, and my driver had already been there waiting for me. Only his car needed a fix, however,it didn't take long, and then I was delivered to my hotel.
My hotel was located in the street that led to the entrance of Petra Castle. There were shops, grocery stores, and restaurants for you to fill up supplies.I know some people might like to take a taxi back to the town where the bus stop was.Nonetheless,I had no interests in going back to downtown. It's fine if you like to go to downtown, just remember it may not seem far. However, the trails in winding road that goes up and down might kill your legs. So,do take a taxi for the transportation.

I held the electronic ticket that I had bought before flying out of Taiwan, and went straight to the square. The sales solicitors swarmed up to surround tourists for selling horse riding, buggy riding,or short tours, etc, which looked like they going to eat you up in the broad day light.

I need to mention one incident that I had encountered.I think sometimes it's hard to avoid. When I first stepped into the site,of course,I was heading directly to the entrance and prepared for the ticket to be validated. Then,a man came up asking for checking my ticket.I thought he was one of the staff who worked there. So,I replied his inquiries like where I was from, and showed him my ticket. Then he started to promote his tours.I thought I must have my eyeballs rolled back to my skull at that moment when he started it.God~I felt I was a fool.

I then took back my ticket and hide into the exhibition house nearby.I needed a quiet place to think a way about how to avoid those sales waiting along the both sides of the only road.Yeah, there was one road only to get into. Some tourists might like to get a horse ride or camels, etc. But I didn't like to.You might buy your animal powered vehicles if you'd like to try something exotic.I wouldn't say it was bad. After all, traveling experience depends on individuals' needs.

I couldn't find a way to avoid being harassed because I needed to stay here for days,so I decided to confront the blow, the bombardment.I would try not to response to them,in order not to provoke more harassment.

So,here it went with this apprehending beginning.I started my Petra Tour.

In these few days,I'd learnt from my own experience that it's better not to stay just for a day in Petra,if this is gonna be one time only in your life.  I know there are tour agencies selling one-day tour package in Israel. However,Petra was the most important site to visit in this journey, even I swept up with my footsteps from the south.
My prior study proved to be right.I needed to use my legs a lot to walk around this archaeological park. So,you see,if I just stayed one day here,my feet would be destroyed. It's better to split the tour into 3 days.

There are 2 relatively hight points for hiking,The High Place of Sacrifice, and The Monastery. You need to spend 1 day respectively for each site, and spend one more day for the rest points. It's better this way to save energy ,feel comfortable ,and have a better joy in savoring this tour.

Many young backpackers would like to just stay 1 day for all points in the park.I really don't think it is a good use for our precious time and money in the end.

Of course, you can rent a donkey helping you hike to the high points. However,it might save your physical laboring,on the other hand,it also might give you a scary ride all the way along the winding mountainous trails, because the sharp falls are right beside the hill stairs.
With the strong heart,it was considered a nice sport to ride on a donkey as cruising along the narrow cliff walls.Well,I don't think those donkeys would commit suicides,so it should be safe.I didn't ride on a donkey, for I needed to do exercise to loss some weight.

I suggest that tourists stay at least 3 days. There is another activity,"Petra by Night",from entrance to reach the square of "The Treasurey" after sunset. You need to notice that you have to buy a new ticket for this night activity right at the spot,at the ticket booth(You can make a purchase prior to the night). It isn't included in the "Jordan Pass".And it doesn't open every night, only every Monday,Wednesday, and Thursday. It only lasts 2 hours around each time.
It depends on individual needs. As for me,I didn't go,because I was content already in the day tour, and I thought the night tour is too commercialised.

It says by Dead Sea Scrolls that Moses left Egypt and reached a place. He then searched for water source for some time, but couldn't find any.Magically, he hit the rocks to have water flowing out and then it turned into a stream. That place is today's Petra.
Even Petra's history starts quite early, however,in the first century,Petra was fallen under Roman Empire.
Thus,we can see a lot of buildings with Romanesque style, like temples, theaters, and churches.Nonetheless, they look still quite different from its peers in other countries. The natural environment offers red rocks that ancient residents carved into instead of stacking up to form diverse buildings. This type of buildings are seen everywhere in the park. When I looked at them from high afar, they seemed to blend perfectly in the whole valley. It's absolutely an alien world.

At that time,Petra was the key point in controlling the trading route between Egypt and Damascus.
Out of Petra's expectation, the sea route had risen and replaced Petra's postion in the 3rd century.Petra was then gradually being deserted.
As time keeps wheeling forward, today's Petra has turned into a renowned tourist site. The reminiscence to Petra keeps changing along with its postion in caprical times.

Sun was fierce. My nose turned into red eventually. It couldn't be prevent from suntanning even my hat stayed on my head all day in Petra.
I climbed up to The Monastery in the time near dusk.
Clear sky, strong wind, and there were no clouds with new moon vaguely hanging by the edge of temple's roof.It was tranquil and I rested in a trance for a while. How could my hatred, love to this world survive in the scene in front of me, an image that's so an incredible eternity?

Humans are easy to forget but leaving behind the civilization. What once the living prints of many, was buried in the wilderness for thousand years, days of being unknown...the End.
