The World's End-Finisterre,Spain

(The road after Santiago de Compostela)

路徑My Route,

The World's End...

There are more than 90 kilometers after Santiago to Finistere,The World's End.

It is usually seen as an extented route of pilgrimage after reaching the Holy City,Santiago.

It will take you 3 days,if you can walk 30 Kms per day.
It sounds harsh, however,as lame as I was, before reaching to Santiago,

30 kms in  a day's walking to me had been a constant matter.

In ancient times,Finisterre was considered

as the closest piece of land of European continent to Atlantic Ocean.
Beyond the ocean,

only is there empty void.

Hence,Finisterre since then has been treated as the last spot of the earthly land.

Severed and reborn...

Sitting ,and sometimes, standing alone by the shore of Atlantic Ocean,

with wind blowing that never halts all year round,

made me feel so left out from the world,

and yet so small like a needle in a haystack.

In general custom, after experiencing a long haul of walking mortification,

and going through myriad green mountains, winding dirt roads to reach this holy site at last,

that pilgrims would practise the ritual of burning things that were intimate to them.

It is a religious and also a mental ritual symbolizes a full stop

to past sins committed,

living burdens

and predicament

before today.
A symbol that all troubles and worries in you were gone

as ashes dissipated into the thin air.

A ritual links to a strong mind with high anticipation,

that from now on,a new you were born.

Tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow,

everything will be all right

and good...

Due to the custom, that gave local government a headache,

eventually the authority couldn't help but erect signs

telling visitors(mostly pilgrims) not to burn things,

for burning pollutes the environment here

and might cause danger in safety.

Nonetheless,

I could still see some burned signs hidden among rocks here and there.

After a great deal of endeavor on road,

some people might get excited at the last flight and followed as the customary activity requests,

which I understood totally,

and I was kind of being moved by their determination to cut off

whatever bad happened in the past in life.

Love rekindled...

TRaSdC073.jpg

My feet were scared along the way to Santiago, after one-month long's efforts.

The nail of one of my toes was peeled off,

and the other two toes' nails turned black, then fell off on later days.

The battling marks I had gained made me proud.

However,I started nagging to people that I wouldn't come again,

for it was too hard for my ages.

TRaSdC116.jpg

Then,one year has passed,

I suddenly discovered that I have been nurturing my nostalgia to the pilgrimage I had done.

The foggy early morning, the wide and grand fields,

the ancient stone bridges and the murmuring rivers underneath,

the sultry day in fierce sun,

the falling rain in the greenery forests,

the twinkling stars of the night,

all of which were so beautiful resonating

in my mind,

in my dreams,

and in my photo files.
I think of them from now and then...

TRaSdC109.jpg

Life is like a seemingly still ocean.

In the world's end,Finisterre,

where is not a beginning, nor an end.

It is "a spot of zero",

as indicating "0 km" on the seashell mark.

In here,

anything in everything can reboot...

"Que a paz prevalezanaterra."

This year,A vicious desease is sprawling everywhere,

accompanying along with disturbing riots.
Here it stood a column stating with "Que a paz prevalezanaterra.

(May peace prevail)",

reflecting my sincere wish,

"May reborn lay upon our world."
